Carmen M. Love was born in Havana, Cuba. Her family emigrated to the United States when she was one year old and she was raised in Miami, Florida. Ms. Sierra attended the University of Florida and the University of Miami School of Law. In 1987 Ms. Sierra became Assistant District Legal Counsel for the Department of Children and Families in the Miami-Dade and Central Florida regions. For 13 years, Ms. Sierra handled a wide range of cases including mental health, public benefits, dependency, labor and employment and commercial litigation in state and federal courts and regulatory matters before the Division of Administrative Hearings and the Public Employee’s Relations Commission. After leaving the Department of Children and Families, Ms. Love began representing the interests of insurance companies in their defense of personal injury claims. Today, Ms. Sierra's practice focuses primarily on the representation of individuals seeking Social Security Disability benefits that have been denied. Ms. Sierra has been admitted to and practiced in the courts of the State of Florida and the Southern Federal District Court. She is, and has been, a member of various professional organizations, including the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Dade County Bar; the statewide task force on juvenile justice; the statewide task force on revisions to Chapter 39; the Orange County Bar; Seminole County Inn of Court; and the Seminole County Bar. Ms. Love has two children and is fluent in Spanish.
