Mark A. Nation is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar, and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. There are approximately 100,000 lawyers in the State of Florida. Only 1% are Board Certified Civil Trial Attorneys by the Florida Bar. Of that 1%, only a select group are Board Certified by both the Florida Bar, and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Board Certified Lawyers are the only lawyers in Florida who are allowed to say that they are “specialists,” or “experts” in the area of trial law. With that in mind, Mr. Nation limits his practice to wrongful death, personal injury, and insurance cases. Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. Mr. Nation is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum whose members must have settled one or more cases worth over one million dollars. Mr. Nation has obtained million dollar and multi-million dollar recoveries for his client’s in many cases. He is routinely consulted by other attorneys from throughout Florida on injury, death and insurance cases. Mr. Nation has tried cases throughout Florida. Mr. Nation has litigated thousands of civil cases against some of the world’s largest corporations and insurance companies, including Delta Air Lines, Inc., Federal Express Corporation, Walt Disney World Co., Universal Studios Florida, Laboratory Corporation of America, Allstate, State Farm, Nationwide, GEICO, Cotton States, Progressive, Florida Farm Bureau, Humana, UNUM, Life Insurance Company of North America, United HealthCare, and Provident Life.
The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers has given Mr. Nation its highest rating. The rating of Preeminent Lawyer is drawn from evaluations submitted by Trial Judges and Mr. Nation’s peers. Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Nation was a police officer and a deputy sheriff. As a law enforcement officer, Mr. Nation has investigated hundreds of crime scenes and automobile accidents. Mr. Nation graduated with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law where he was an editor of the Law Review. He is also a member of the Order of the Coif, a national organization which recognizes excellence in legal studies. Mr. Nation is married with four children. Over the years, he has served on the board of directors of many organizations, including: Ronald McDonald House, Seminole County Bar Association, Volie Williams Inns of Court (a national organization dedicated to professionalism and ethics in the practice of law). In 2009, Mr. Nation was selected as one of the University of Central Florida’s recipients of its Alumni Professional Achievement Awards. Mr. and Mrs. Nation support Bags of Hope, Hospice of the Comforter, Christian Help, and Orlando Union Rescue Mission.
